How to Start Cosplay

Have you ever wanted to get into a cosplay but don’t know how to start? This introductory panel will break down the process of beginning a cosplay, covering aspects of research, selection of materials, wig styling, and basic patterning.

GUEST OF HONOR: JS COSPLAY

Jane made her first cosplay two years ago for Anime Expo, and has become passionate about it ever since. Her main area of specialty is tailoring, and always pushes herself to make each cosplay well fitted and true to the original design. Although she started out as a self-taught seamstress, Jane has extended her knowledge in prop making and hair/makeup. She has worked on official prop commissions for games such as Battleborn for San Diego Comic Con 2015. Ruby Rose (RWBY), Super Sailor Mars (Sailor Moon), and Akame (Akame ga Kill) are some of her favorite cosplay accomplishments. For every cosplay she creates, Jane stresses the importance of proper proportioning, overall styling, and most importantly to have fun!
